HomePlug technology application: Gaming

Connecting a game console such as an XBox 360, Wii, or PS3 to the Internet can be a challenge when the game console and TV aren't located in the same room as the Internet router or broadband gateway.
Some households try to use WiFi, but that requires experienced setup of the game console for SSID and security parameters.  Others resort to running an extremely long Ethernet cable from the game station to their gateway; not an attractive solution for most Moms!

With HomePlug powerline connectivity, consumers can connect the Internet to any electrical outlet in the house. All that’s needed is a powerline adapter connected to the router/gateway and plugged into the AC outlet in that room and a second powerline adapter connected to the game station in another room and also plugged into an outlet.
Consumers who want to enable head-to-head gaming between two consoles in the house, can also use HomePlug-compliant Ethernet adapters to connect the consoles over the existing electrical wiring.
